Overview

Nairobi is the capital city of Kenya. It's very easy to get there using KLM blue miles, that can be used for Kenya Ariways. The name comes from a masaai word Enkare Nyirobi, which means "the place of cool waters”. The city’s population is approximately 35 million people. The city is home to major international bodies such as the United Nations Environment Programme. The most exciting thing about Nairobi is its night life especially if you come from Europe and the U.S you would be happy to hear that there are no 2 am curfews. Here the party ends at 7am and there are clubs for literally everything. When you arrive just ask around for your preference and you will be sure to be directed in the right direction.

Other places of interest include the art galleries such as the Rahimtulla Museum of Modern Art and the Mzizi Arts Centre.

Nairobi safari attractions include

The Solar Ice Rink; the rink is located at the Panari Sky Centre. The rink is the largest ice rink in Africa. The rink can accommodate 200 people at any time.

Uhuru Gardens: The monument was built in remembrance of the struggle for independence of Kenya. The monument is surrounded by fountains and a well kept lush garden.

The Nyayo Monument: The monument was built to commemorate 10 years of power by the then president Daniel arap Moi.

Nairobi National Park: The park is located just outside just outside Nairobi. AS you leave the JKIA airport its on your left. The park is filled with over 400 species of birds as well as wildlife such as the rhino, cheetah, giraffe, buffalo & wildebeest.

The Giraffe Centre: The centre is home to the Rothschild Giraffe and warthogs. The centre also conducts conservation & education.

Nairobi Safari Walk: This is an educational centre set us by the Kenya Wildlife Service to raise awareness on wildlife & habitat conservation

Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage: This is a private orphanage who main purpose is to adopt elephant & rhino calves from all over Kenya which have been orphaned through poaching.

Nairobi National Museum: The museum is the best place to learn more about the history and cultures of Nairobi

National Railway Museum: The museum is located in the central business district and here you will learn more about the history of Kenya’s railroads.

Karen Blixen Museum: Located in the outskirts of Nairobi and was home to the acclaimed author Karen Blixen. Her house has now become the home of the museum.

Bomas of Kenya: This is the best place to view the epitome of Kenya culture. You will be able to view exhibits of traditional Kenyan homes, cultural artifacts. And while you are at it be entertained with cultural music and traditional dances.
