Overview
You will feel at home from the moment you arrive at Baines’ River Camp, a luxurious and intimate safari lodge with just eight double suites, set on the northern bank of the Zambezi River amid Tamarind and Jackalberry trees. Richard awaits you in the Selous Bar with a warm welcome and a refreshing drink before you unpack and get ready for your first activity. Or you may prefer to just take in the scenery this afternoon and settle down with your binoculars on our main verandah or at the swimming pool to gaze over the Zambezi, Africa’s fourth largest river. Everyone deserves a bit of pampering now and then, so do spoil yourself and opt for a massage or beauty treatment in the privacy of your suite. As you make yourself comfortable on the sofa of your private verandah with a book from our growing library collection, you will probably wonder why you only booked to stay for three nights…
Baines River Camp AccommodationBaines’ River Camp offers a choice of eight Explorer Suites with either King or Twin beds. Each of these individual colonial style safari suites, named after different African Explorers, commands its own view of the Zambezi River from a comfortably furnished verandah.
Decorated with rich, classical fabrics, colourful kelims, natural hardwood timbers, leather and finished with air-conditioning, a ceiling fan, cotton percale linen, pure down pillows and duvets, complimentary mini-bar with coffee and tea making facilities, a personal safe for your valuables and a hair dryer, the Explorer Suites take luxury to the limits in the Zambezi Valley.
The en-suite bathrooms include a walk-in shower and spacious dressing area, whilst two of our suites feature an additional outdoor shower.
The suites are as “mosquito-proof” as possible and in addition, insect repellants are provided for your comfort.
Feel at home, make yourself comfortable on your verandah with a pair of binoculars to scan the river banks, grab a book or simply put your head back for a well deserved afternoon siesta.
